I believe it was a year ago when my sister began talking about Spring Awakening. I thought it was ridiculous how she is so crazy about a musical. When she heard that Spring Awakening was coming to Los Angeles, she told me about it. She said she wants us to go, so I didn't really cared and said "Sure, why not." We ordered our ticket to the show on November 26, 2008. It was at the Ahmason Theater, and we went there by the bus, Foothill Transit. I wasn't as excited as my sister, so I just waited outside the building for 2 hours, since we arrived 3 hours early.
When we were inside the building, we got a program of the show. It was like a magazine, and I guess it was suppose to keep us busy while we wait. But since I hated reading, I didn't really read it. All I did was flip through the book and look for some interesting pictures. Well, the show began at 8 PM. We watched it. AND I LOVED IT! OH MY GOD! IT WAS LIKE THE BEST MUSICAL I'VE EVER SEEN! I've only seen Wicked, but that was a long time ago, so I don't have any feelings for it anymore. Besides, when I was watching Wicked, I couldn't really see anything becasue I forgot my glasses, so it was really a blur to me right now. I loved Wicked back then, but right after I watched Spring Awakening, I fell in love with Spring Awakening~! I love Ernst and Hanschen! "Don't Do Sadness" and "Blue Wind"! Otto's sausage curls! The swings and the ensemble! EVERYTHING WAS SO AWESOME!
When we got home, I was so excited about Spring Awakening, I went on the Internet to search for everything about Spring Awakening. I went to YouTube to listen to the music, and I found the National Tour Casts' YouTube account. It was so unexpected, but I watched their videos over and over and over again! They made me fall in love with them even more. Other than that, I actually read the whole program magazine thing we got from the event. I read everything except the non-Spring Awakening stuff. I read the character profile, and who's who. I basically memorized everything. What is more amazing is, my sister suggested us to watch Spring Awakening again! I thought it was impossible, because when we wanted to watch Wicked the second time, our daddy rejected us, so we didn't see it a second time. However, we told our mommy instead of our daddy, so our mommy accepted our request! AND, we decided to watch Spring Awakening again, for the second time, ON MY BIRTHDAY! AND, It's the last show the tour cast have at Los Angeles!
So, for the second time, I didn't forget to bring my glasses, and my sister even borrowed a binocular from her friend so we can use it at the theater. On the day, December 7, 2008, we went there 2 hours earlier. This time, it was a Matinee show, so it was all bright and shiny. We we got to Ahmason Theater, my sister noticed three people buying lunch at some bakery store there, and it turned out to be Andy Mientus, Ben Moss, Henry Stram, and Blake Bashoff. It was before the show, and my sister and I got all excited. It made me happy just to see them. However, I was too shy to go up to them to say hello. My sister was angry at me for doing that, but still, my life was complete just to see their faces, non-Spring Awakening faces.
Before the show started, I was playing with the binoculars, and when the chairacters went into their seats, I immediately spot them. I could recognize each and everyone of them and they are so tiny! We were seating in the balcony seats, so everyone was so small. However, I saw Lucas and he was all quiet-looking seating next to some lady; it must have been awkward for both of them. THEN, I spotted Perry and Krystina on the other side! The were talking to each other, and I was just looking at them talking to each other; it's like I was stalking them, but I loved it! During the show, my sister and I were fighting to use the binoculars so we can zoom in on all the actors' faces. They were all so beautiful and fantastic. At the end of the show, we decided to go a see if we are lucky enough to see the actors at the stage door. AND WE WERE LUCKY ENOUGH TO SEE THEM! On my birthday, I get to see the show AND meet the cast! It was the best day of my life. I will try not to forget it, not like what I did to Wicked.
